Celebrating Unity, Building Bridges – GISA at the German Unity Day Reception in Accra
On 30 September, German Unity Day was celebrated in Accra with a festive reception at the residence of German Ambassador Frederik Landshöft. The German International School Accra was represented by Administrative Director Katrin Krüger, Deputy Headmaster Haitham Albeiruty and Head of Primary School Ramona Klaes.
The reception brought together numerous guests from diplomacy, politics, business, culture and society. At the heart of the evening were the commemoration of German reunification and the close and diverse relations between Ghana and Germany.
A varied cultural programme featuring music and art created a special atmosphere and offered many opportunities for encounters and conversations. The evening therefore became not only a festive occasion, but also a visible expression of the strong partnership between Ghana and Germany.
German Unity Day is celebrated every year on 3 October to commemorate the reunification of Germany in 1990. For the German International School Accra, it is also a special occasion to highlight its close connection to Germany and its role as a bridge between Germany and Ghana.
We thank the German Embassy for the invitation, for a memorable evening and for the long-standing and trusting cooperation.
