Primary School
Primary school
Currently, our primary school is made up of pupils from different nationalities and backgrounds who are taught in mixed year groups. At GISA, we see the diversity and cultural diversity of our pupils as both an enrichment and a challenge. We are a German school not only because we naturally speak and teach the German language, but also because we strengthen the English language. With our small learning groups, individualized learning is possible in an appealing and friendly learning atmosphere.
The lessons are based on the Thuringian curriculum and includes all subjects of a German primary school. Teaching of German and German as a foreign language as well as English and English as a foreign language takes place at five lessons per week and thus aims to achieve a high level of language proficiency. This enables pupils to learn from and with each other linguistically and culturally. An integrated and interactive approach to learning is the basis for promoting personal, social and methodological skills.
