Building bridges by creating a safe and inclusive environment where diversity is embraced, difference  is respected an empathy is paramount.โ€‹

At GISA, we treat one another with respect and embrace diversity, tolerance, and empathy as fundamental values of our school community. We believe that every child should feel safe, valued, and included. Social skills, respectful communication, and responsible behaviour are actively fostered through regular class council meetings, where students learn to listen to different perspectives, resolve conflicts constructively, and contribute to a positive classroom atmosphere.

To help new students settle into school life, we offer a buddy programme that connects them with experienced classmates who support their integration into the school community. We encourage a growth mindset by recognising effort, perseverance, and personal development, while viewing mistakes as valuable opportunities for learning and improvement.

A safe learning environment is supported by our child protection policy, clear classroom and school rules, and a culture of mutual accountability. Our school social worker, together with the elected student counsellors (trusted teachers), provides guidance and support whenever students need someone to talk to or seek assistance.

Democratic participation is an important part of school life at GISA. Each class elects class representatives who actively contribute to the Student Council and participate in school decision-making processes. In this way, students learn to take responsibility, represent the interests of their peers, and engage constructively in shaping their school environment.

At the same time, we recognise that every learner is unique. Through our SIN (Support for Individual Needs) and SEN (Special Educational Needs) programmes, we provide targeted support tailored to individual strengths, challenges, and learning profiles. Regular learning assessments help us identify studentsโ€™ needs at an early stage and ensure that appropriate support measures are put in place.

This commitment to inclusion is further strengthened through our primary school support programme (Fรถrderband) and individual learning sessions in secondary school, which provide additional opportunities for personalised learning and academic development beyond regular classroom instruction.

By combining academic support, social-emotional learning, student participation, and individualised guidance, GISA creates a safe and inclusive environment in which every student can thrive and reach their full potential.
