Thuringian Educational Framework
🏫 Thuringian Educational Plan in the Primary School at the German International School Accra
Strong foundations through holistic learning
The Primary School at the German International School Accra follows the Thuringian Educational Plan up to the age of 18, a trusted framework used by many German schools abroad to provide holistic, competence-based education.
This educational plan places the development of the whole child at its centre: children are encouraged to think independently, act responsibly, communicate with confidence, and build creative, mathematical, and scientific skills. Learning is not limited to the transfer of knowledge—it also supports personal growth, social awareness, and intercultural sensitivity, which is especially important in our international context.
Our teaching combines academic rigour with hands-on learning, differentiated instruction, and inquiry-based projects that nurture curiosity and ownership of learning.
