Parent Representatives
The Parent Council at the German International School Accra
At the German International School Accra, elected parent representatives play an important role within our school community. Their primary task is to represent the interests of parents in matters concerning a supportive and positive learning environment for all students.
The Parent Council serves as a bridge between the parent body and the school. It gathers suggestions, questions, and feedback from parents and brings them into constructive dialogue with the school leadership. At the same time, parent representatives receive important updates on school developments and communicate these transparently to the parent community.
At the beginning of each school year, two parent representatives are elected in each class and group during the parent meetings. They serve for one school year and maintain regular contact with the respective class and subject teachers.
Current Parent Council Leadership
Today, Mr Matthias Rheinberger has assumed the role of Chair of the Parent Council, succeeding Ms Paulien Peeters-Becker. Ms Peeters-Becker will remain actively involved in the committee as Kindergarten parent representative. Mr Kofi Ako Owiredu continues in his role as Deputy Parent Representative.
