Clean-Up in Old Ningo

This week, Alicia Bergner and Lina Robst were at our partner school Universal Wonderful Street Academy in Old Ningo and continued the project on plastic waste in a practical way. The whole school took part in a successful clean-up of the school grounds and the beach directly in front of the school grounds. The day before, the children invited their parents and neighbours to lend a hand. In addition, signs were painted to remind them not to leave any rubbish lying around and were distributed around the grounds during the clean-up.

After the clean-up had been completed and masses of rubbish had been collected, the two GISA interns worked with some children from the upper classes to melt plastic lids together using irons and create something new from them.
