Ghana Family Festival – A Wonderful Celebration!

On February 27, 2025, our Ghana Family Festival took place on the lawn in front of the Swiss Club – and it was a resounding success!

The atmosphere was filled with joy as numerous visitors from our school community, along with friends and families, came together to enjoy this special afternoon. One of the highlights of the event was the musical performances. The youngest participants, our preschool children, confidently sang the Ghanaian national anthem, setting the stage for an incredible dance performance by the dance project led by Miss Mayoga and Addis. The students captivated the audience with their energetic and passionate performance. Additionally, the creative works from our Ghana projects were beautifully displayed and became a true eye-catcher.

Culinary delights were also a key part of the festival. Guests had the chance to take part in Fufu-pounding and even received a discount for their participation. The traditional preparation requires significant effort, and many will now appreciate a bowl of Fufu even more! The freshly grilled tilapia with Banku was a crowd favorite, as were the refreshing drinks and local snacks such as Bofrot and Poloo.

A special thank you goes to the Happy Arts Academy for joining us! Under the guidance of their master artisans, participants created beautiful pottery pieces. Meanwhile, the Batik workshop with Matilda Lartey Tumado allowed guests to design unique fabric patterns, ensuring they would have a lasting memory of this wonderful day.

The festival was not only a celebration of culture and cuisine but also a warm and welcoming gathering where people connected, shared, and celebrated together.
