GISA Students Shine at Francophonie Festival

On Tuesday, 24 March 2026, our secondary students proudly represented the German International School Accra at the Francophonie Festival hosted by the Alliance Française. As this was our school’s first participation in the festival, the experience was both exciting and truly memorable for everyone involved.

The day began with a series of engaging and interactive learning activities designed to deepen students’ appreciation of the French language and the rich diversity of Francophone cultures. Our learners participated with great enthusiasm, demonstrating teamwork, curiosity, and growing confidence in their language abilities.

The highlight of the event was the second segment, featuring a cultural competition and a spelling bee. We are proud to share that GISA achieved an impressive 3rd place in the cultural competition among six participating schools—an outstanding accomplishment for a debut appearance.

In the spelling bee competition, which brought together 33 contestants from various schools, our student Matt Alfa-Traoré distinguished himself by securing 3rd place overall. His performance reflected dedication, thorough preparation, and academic excellence.

This was a proud and defining moment for our school. Our students not only demonstrated strong academic and cultural competencies but also embodied the spirit of “Building Bridges” through collaboration, openness, and global-mindedness.

We look forward to building on this success and strengthening our participation in future editions of the Francophonie Festival.
