Lantern Light and Community: Our Lantern Festival 2026

In November it is time once again for one of our most atmospheric celebrations: On Thursday, 12 November 2026, the Deutsche Internationale Schule Accra warmly invites you to this year’s Lantern Festival.

We will begin at 5 p.m. with coffee and cake in a relaxed atmosphere. At 5:30 p.m., our guests can look forward to a short stage programme, before the traditional lantern parade starts at 6 p.m. With colourful lanterns and glowing lights, we will celebrate a much-loved German tradition here in Accra.

From 6:30 p.m. onwards, we will round off the evening with dinner and a relaxed get-together. The Lantern Festival is not only about light and tradition, but above all about coming together as a community.

The festival is organised by our child car center team, who are already looking forward to a wonderful evening with our children, families, friends and guests.

We look forward to many shining lanterns and a very special evening together at the Deutsche Internationale Schule Accra.
