Out and About Together: GISA Team Day in Aburi

On Saturday, 29 August, the GISA team swapped classrooms, offices and the school grounds for waterfalls, nature and picnic blankets. Our team day was all about spending time together, connecting beyond the usual school routine and simply enjoying each other’s company.

Our first stop was Oboadaka Waterfall in the Eastern Region, not far from Aburi. Surrounded by the green landscape of the Akuapem Hills, the waterfall offered a beautiful setting to relax, take pictures and enjoy some time together away from the everyday school environment.

From there, we continued to the Aburi Botanical Gardens. Founded in 1890, the gardens are one of the best-known green spaces in the region, with extensive grounds and a rich variety of tropical plants. A shared picnic and a few team activities gave everyone plenty of time to talk, laugh and unwind.

Especially at the beginning of a new school year, the day was a great opportunity to grow even closer as a team and to meet colleagues from different areas of GISA in a completely different setting.

A big thank you to Ve Fredrich and Bernard Mensah for preparing and organising this wonderful day!

And for one Saturday, the rule was simple: no lesson planning, no marking and no administrative coordination – just time together.
