Pink October at GISA – Raising Awareness, Saving Lives

Written on 24 October 2025

October is recognized worldwide as Breast Cancer Awareness Month – and GISA is joining the cause.
Our school nurse Nancy Twieku takes this opportunity to educate and remind all members of our school community – parents, teachers, and staff – about the importance of early detection and prevention.

In her current “Letter from the School Nurse,” she clearly explains what breast cancer is, the main risk factors and symptoms, and how everyone can take simple steps to reduce their personal risk. She also emphasizes the importance of regular check-ups and early diagnosis – because awareness saves lives.
