School musical project Encanto Anigyεc

Curtain up for a very special GISA highlight!

At the German International School Accra, things are about to get musical, creative, and truly international again. With great excitement, we are launching our new school musical project Encanto Anigyεc — a vibrant whole-school production that brings our community together.

Auditions begin tomorrow, Tuesday, 24 February, giving our young talents the chance to step into the spotlight. The big performances will follow on 4 and 5 June 2026 — dates to mark in your calendar now!

On the journey toward the stage, students will work in a variety of exciting cross-age project groups. The entire school is involved — from Grade 1 to Grade 8 — and even our Kindergarten children are part of the adventure. Whether on stage or behind the scenes, there is truly a role for everyone.

Our project teams reflect the full spectrum of a real musical production:

• Acting
• Singing
• Dance
• Technical team
• Costume design, stage design and props
• Organization and catering team

Step by step, a genuine “made at GISA” musical is taking shape.

Content-wise, we are bringing the beloved Disney film Encanto from South America to Ghana and giving it a unique local twist. The addition Anigyεc comes from Akan/Twi and roughly means “joy” or “celebration of joy” — a perfect match for the spirit of this lively school project.

The creative vision once again comes from Ramona Klaes and Sara Debackere, who have designed a project that beautifully combines creativity, collaboration, and cultural bridge-building — fully in line with GISA’s guiding principle “Building Bridges.”

We look forward to many brave singers, dancers, and actors — and to all the dedicated team members working behind the scenes to make this production shine.
