Visit to Korle Bu Teaching Hospital – Insight into the Gerald Asamoah Foundation’s Project

Written on 07 November 2025

Katharina Kaufmann and Katrin Krüger, Administrative Directors of the German International School Accra (GISA), visited the current project of the Gerald Asamoah Foundation for Children with Heart Disease at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.

Both were deeply impressed by the professionalism, dedication, and compassion of the entire team. For many years, the foundation has supported children in Ghana with congenital heart defects – providing them with life-saving surgeries and renewed hope.

Katrin Krüger shared her touching impressions:

“Yesterday I had the privilege to observe the doctors and nurses of the Gerald Asamoah Foundation for Children with Heart Disease at work in the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital. I have great respect for the incredible work they do – with such commitment, professionalism, and heart. I was truly moved.💖”

Katharina Kaufmann added:

“I am deeply impressed by the outstanding work of the Gerald Asamoah Foundation. What the doctors and nurses achieve here deserves the highest respect. It especially touched me to see that many of the children are around the same age as my own – it really goes under your skin.”

GISA is proud of its close cooperation with the Gerald Asamoah Foundation, which not only provides medical aid but also builds bridges of humanity between Germany and Ghana.
