The German International School Accra and the Universal Wonderful Street Academy are partners. Points of contact and inspiration include joint cultural events, drumming workshops, a march for children's rights in Jamestown and soccer. Most recently, a German teacher held a workshop on an educational topic for the teaching staff in Old Ningo.
The Universal Wonderful Street Academy is an NGO that supports needy children in Ghana. In Jamestown, Accra and Old Ningo there is a free elementary school for children who cannot afford education. The children also receive clean water, meals, clothing, school materials and, if necessary, medical help. After successfully completing the 6th grade at the UWSA, the children can continue their education at a high school with the help of a scholarship. The UWSA supports them all the way to university.
The work is financed by donations, e.g. through a sponsorship program via the Förderverein in Germany.
