No one will believe us – but today we actually all got up between 5:15 and 5:45 am, and we were surprisingly energetic. The parents at home will be amazed!
We first gathered together and talked about our first night in the tents, our nocturnal adventures and even our dreams. From snoring tent mates to missing socks, absolutely everything was included.

After getting changed and ready for the hike, we enjoyed a delicious pancake breakfast and plenty of cocoa. Fully refreshed, we set off on foot at 8:00 am, walking through the village and then beginning the ascent of Mount Afadjato.

The climb was really exhausting, but we all made it to the top together – and without any bribery!

Once at the top, we were able to enjoy the breathtaking view and eat our snacks. The way back, however, was just as challenging: the steep, slippery path is actually more suitable for adults. But with mutual support and great team spirit, we mastered this part as well – and even had to motivate Mrs Weber to keep going and not to remain sitting in the forest.

Back at the lodge, we had a popular and tasty lunch at 1:00 pm: chips, chicken, sausages and lots of fresh salad. Afterwards, we enjoyed two hours of relaxation and free play.

At 4:00 pm, our next big task of the day began – this time in our tent groups. We had to complete different challenges at five stations: finding suitable sticks for the evening’s surprise, rehearsing a dance or acrobatic show for the campfire, tidying the tents and setting up our group flags, building a house or tent for our new class members Messi & Ronaldo, and finally writing a short report about a lovely experience.

With plenty of enthusiasm, commitment and team spirit, every group achieved great results – and we had a lot of fun doing it.

For dinner, we were even allowed to choose: Spaghetti Bolognese or a tasty rice curry prepared by our cook, Philo. And on top of that, we were treated to ice cream – strawberry, vanilla, chocolate or all of them together.

But that still wasn’t the last sweet treat of the day. After dinner, we gathered around the campfire and performed the dances we had rehearsed. The other groups and the teachers formed a strict but enthusiastic jury, watching each performance with great interest.
To finish the evening, we toasted some delicious marshmallows over the campfire.

Now we are already looking forward to tomorrow – our hike to the waterfalls, the overall evaluation of today’s tasks, and of course the journey home.
