Class Trip of Grades 3/4 – Mount Afadjato

Written on 06 November 2025

This morning we set off almost on time at 8:00 a.m. for our long-awaited class trip. Once all the luggage was securely strapped to the top of the bus and everyone had found their seat, we finally hit the road – excitement was in the air!

Although the bus ride was long, the nearly six hours passed quickly. We talked, laughed, and sang together. Around noon things became a bit quieter – some children took the opportunity to read, relax, or take a short nap.

After a stop for some fun and movement with trampolining and archery, we continued toward our destination. The excitement grew with every kilometre – and finally we arrived at the Tagbo Falls Lodge!

In small groups, we immediately began setting up our tents. While some teams managed this in no time, others needed a bit of help – luckily, our mountaineers Samuel and Sarah, together with our accompanying teachers Bernard Boateng, Anna Hofmann, and Steffi Weber, were ready to assist.

Once all the tents were up, there was still plenty of time for football, skipping ropes, and card games. Afterwards, we gave our tents creative names, designed our own flags, and invented secret access codes – lots of fun and great team spirit!

Dinner was a delicious meal of rice, tomato sauce, chicken, and fresh salad – a well-deserved reward after such an eventful day. Later, many children explored the area, played in small groups, and enjoyed the fresh evening air.

Before finally crawling into our tents, we gathered in a circle to share our favourite moments of the day and express our wishes for the next one.

Now it’s time to say: Good night, Grades 3/4! Tomorrow the big hike awaits us – and we can’t wait! 🦥
