An Adventurous Thursday in Amedzofe
Thursday’s Review by Kekeli, Nii & Baba
A Morning of Music and Movement
By now, the cheerful tunes of our “Guten Morgen” song have become the soundtrack to our mornings. What started as a sleepy stretch has turned into a lively morning ritual – especially thanks to our daily yoga sessions.
Breakfast was served today by Baba, Kekeli, and Nii, who volunteered with big smiles. After eating, everyone got ready for the day’s adventure. On the bus, we played team-building games, sang songs, and laughed together – even those who had dozed off soon joined in the fun.
One Plan, Two Options – and a Brave Decision
Our original plan was to visit the canopy walk in Amedzofe overlooking the Volta. But when we arrived, we found out it was closed for maintenance! Luckily, we had other options: climbing Mount Gemi or visiting the lower waterfall. After an exciting vote, the waterfall won!
However, the path turned out to be steeper than expected. After a short discussion, we decided to turn back – not out of fear, but out of good sense. Safety first!
Back at the Lodge – Play, Teamwork, and Joy
Back at the lodge, we watched playful monkeys, discussed our class project, and spent the afternoon playing football and practicing our Afro dance. It was a day full of laughter, energy, and teamwork – everything a great class trip should be.
Dance, Fire & S’mores – A Night to Remember
In the evening, we enjoyed an amazing performance by a local dance group around a blazing bonfire that lit up both the night and our hearts. We made s’mores – marshmallows, chocolate, and biscuits – and shared joyful moments together.
Alexis, Julie, Ruda, and Zoe thanked the dancers with a wonderful Afrobeat performance of their own, and soon everyone joined in – even the boys! Dinner was a delicious feast of Jollof rice, salad, fried chicken, Sobolo, and tiger nut drink – the perfect ending to a magical night.
Reflections Under the Stars
Before going to bed, we sat together under the starlit sky and reflected on the day. We were tired but happy and grateful – for the adventures, the challenges, and the unforgettable moments that made us grow even closer as a class.
