Brainpower After Dark – Our Long Night of Mathematics

Nine students from grades 5, 6, and 7/8 took part in this year’s “Long Night of Mathematics” – together with a total of 551 schools from all over Germany, German schools abroad, and more than 7,000 teams. From 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., our school was buzzing with puzzling, calculating, and experimenting. Whether working alone or in a team, ideas were developed, discarded, and rethought. Drawings, sketches, calculators, and above all lots of creativity accompanied us throughout the evening – as did the valuable support we gave one another.

A big thank-you also goes to the parents, who not only helped us puzzle through the problems but also provided the group with snacks and pizza – the perfect brain food for a long night of mathematics!

We are especially proud that we were actually able to solve some of the tricky problems. It was an exciting and motivating evening that showed just how much fun working on challenges together can be.
