German potpourri

German potpourri

This week, a pre-Christmas German potpourri was on the program for the seventh graders: Christmas conversation prompts and punctuation exercises alternated, and after their ballad unit, the students got to know another famous form of poetry: the Japanese haiku, a form of poetry usually consisting of only three verses. They wrote winter haiku themselves and illustrated them accordingly. In the middle of the week, the class received a devastating message by letter: Christmas was in danger because a villain had kidnapped Santa Claus. Only with their active help could he be freed and Christmas be saved! - This varied “escape game”, in the course of which the pupils cooperatively “cracked” various logic puzzles, quickly created a Christmas atmosphere.
