Wednesday Report – Mount Afadzato Adventure
by Rudatu, Alexis and Julie
We started our Wednesday at 7 a.m. with a fun and relaxing yoga session. After breakfast, we got ready for our big adventure: climbing Mount Afadzato, the highest mountain in West Africa.
At first, we were really excited, but the climb turned out to be much harder than we expected. We encouraged each other all the way up and finally made it to the top. The view – and the feeling of reaching it together – was amazing!
After the hike, we enjoyed a delicious lunch of Jollof, Waakye, and chicken, and even tried some fresh cocoa. While waiting for the rest of our classmates to descend, the boys who had already made it down played football.
Back at the lodge, we rested a bit before dinner and then played board games like Uno, Dobble, and Poker with our teachers.
To end the day, we had a spaghetti tower challenge! Each team received three marshmallows and twenty spaghetti sticks – and Zoe, Nii, Baba, and Jaiden’s team, with a little help from Miss Mayoga, built the tallest tower and won the competition.
It was such a fun and adventurous day. We learned patience, teamwork, and determination – and just like in our morning yoga pose, we were true warriors!
