A Strong First Year – Review of Our Support Association’s Work

Written on 13 December 2025

What might sound like “the same procedure every year” is, in fact, something quite new: our Support Association is still in its early stages – driven by fresh energy, strong commitment and visible results.

Already in its first year, several impactful projects were implemented, making a noticeable contribution to school life at GISA.

A particular highlight was the expansion of our school library. Thanks to the Support Association’s backing, a large selection of new children’s and young adult books arrived in Accra, including the establishment of a tiptoi® section, which combines reading, listening and learning in a playful and engaging way.

Another very visible addition is the new professional-grade table football, which will enrich break times by encouraging movement, interaction and shared enjoyment.

In addition, the Support Association supported several families with the financing of class trips and launched a tree-planting initiative on the school grounds, a project whose impact will continue to grow in the coming year.

A heartfelt thank-you goes to a new family in our school community who generously supported several projects with logistical assistance.

The work of the Support Association was made possible through donations as well as a particularly successful fundraising activity: the mulled wine stand at the school Christmas market, which raised approximately 4,000 GHS. Special thanks go to Thorsten and Robert for their commitment.

With this brief review, the Support Association wishes all members, families and supporters a joyful and peaceful Christmas season – whether with snow or Harmattan.
