⚽ Football Meets Finance – A Day of Opportunity, Team Spirit, and Educational Partnership 💼

On Tuesday, September 16, 2025, the second edition of “Football Meets Finance” brought together sports and financial education in a truly unique way. Thirty girls from diverse backgrounds came together to not only demonstrate their football skills but also to gain valuable knowledge in financial literacy.

Participants included girls from the partner NGOs Chance for Children and Universal Wonderful Street Academy (UWSA), as well as students from GISA. A special highlight of the day was the visit by representatives of the Ghana Football Association, who encouraged and motivated the young players with their presence and support.

The program combined intensive football training sessions, led by football legend Petra Landers and her Faces of Football team, with engaging finance workshops provided by the Sparkassenstiftung. On the field, teamwork, discipline, and fair play took center stage, while the workshops introduced the girls to essential skills for managing money — an important step toward a self-determined future.

The day concluded with a lively mini football tournament, where excitement, cheers, and team spirit filled the air. Special thanks go to David Detzler, a dedicated parent, and Collins Osita Onyisi, the husband of a teacher, who volunteered as referees to ensure fair and smooth matches.
