An Intense Football Saturday at GISA

Written on 16 December 2025

Passion, Team Spirit and a Hard-Fought Victory

Last Saturday once again showed what football at GISA is all about: commitment, teamwork and the determination to give everything until the final whistle. Under the guidance of coach David Detzler, our teams played a series of intense and closely contested matches, filled with challenges, strong moments and a memorable success to close the year.

Our younger team faced a demanding opponent in the Arc Academy, a side that was clearly well-rehearsed and physically strong. Despite these challenges, our players showed great fighting spirit and launched an impressive comeback. Although it was ultimately not enough to secure a draw, the performance marked an important step in the team’s ongoing development.

A real highlight followed in the U14 match. After a difficult first half and a 2–5 deficit at the break, the game initially seemed to be heading in a familiar direction, echoing the match from two weeks ago. However, after halftime, tactical adjustments and substitutions began to pay off. Driven by remarkable determination and strong team spirit, the boys fought their way back into the game and turned it into a well-deserved 7–5 victory. An outstanding team performance that rightly earned great respect — and special praise from coach David Detzler.

With this win, the team heads confidently into the break until the new year. One final training session will take place before the well-deserved holiday break, after which further information about the upcoming camp will follow.

A heartfelt thank you goes to all parents and supporters for their continued encouragement and support. We wish all families a joyful Christmas, restful holidays and a great start to the new year — and we look forward to an exciting and successful 2026 at GISA. ⚽🎄
