Certification as a Cambridge International School
The German International School Accra is proud to announce that, as of August 22, 2024, it has been certified as a Cambridge International School. The school administration and board are pleased to offer the renowned Cambridge Curriculum alongside the German curriculum. These two educational systems do not conflict but rather complement each other harmoniously, providing students with a comprehensive and versatile education.
The Cambridge Curriculum is internationally recognized, placing a strong emphasis on critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a global perspective. It offers students the opportunity to earn qualifications such as the Cambridge IGCSE and the Cambridge International AS & A Level, which are highly valued worldwide. With a flexible structure tailored to students' individual strengths and interests, it encourages active participation in the learning process and prepares students for international exams and careers.
Experienced teachers Apaw Russell Adu and Clemencia Mayoga are excited about implementing the new curriculum. They are confident that the combination of both educational paths will provide students with a unique opportunity to develop their academic and personal skills while preparing them for the global challenges of the 21st century.
With this step, the school builds bridges between cultures and offers a diverse educational program for international, German, and Ghanaian families. The German International School Accra sees itself as a school of encounter, fostering exchange and mutual understanding, and thus contributing significantly to intercultural education.
