kulturweit

The kulturweit voluntary service is an international exchange programme organised by the German Commission for UNESCO in cooperation with the Federal Foreign Office. It offers young people from Germany the opportunity to work at a school abroad for a period of six to twelve months. The volunteers support teaching, particularly in the area of German language and culture. They help the teachers, initiate language projects or lead study groups.

The aim of the programme is to promote intercultural exchange and facilitate dialogue between different cultures. Volunteers and students learn from each other and build mutual understanding.

To take part in this programme, volunteers must be between 18 and 26 years old and have an interest in education, language and intercultural exchange. They should be willing to get involved in a new cultural environment.

The kulturweit volunteer service offers participants numerous benefits. These include personal development through living and working in a foreign country, improving their own language skills and gaining insights into international educational and cultural work. Overall, the programme not only contributes to the individual enrichment of the volunteers, but also to the promotion of education and international understanding worldwide. At GISA, we have many years of experience with cultural volunteers and can say with conviction that they are a great help and enrichment for our student body.
