Class trip class 5-6 to Ko-Sa

26.11.24

8.00 a.m.

Some of us haven't slept much because of the excitement. All our luggage is stowed away and we jump on the bus. Thanks to Abbas' pleasant driving style, we arrived in Ko-Sa after 4 hours. Beach, sun and a good lunch awaited us. We spent the day exploring the town and growing even closer together through a bit of team building.

The first night was short, as some of us woke up incredibly early from excitement. Luckily for us, Clemencia Mayoga is also an early riser and so a small group went for a very early walk.

We dedicated this day to art and crafts. Kwadjo showed us how glass beads are fired. Each of us was allowed to fire 5 beads or a larger piece of jewelry, which we later made into a bracelet or necklace. We were very enthusiastic and proud of the results. In between, we even had the opportunity to splash around in the neighboring pool. An all-round successful day.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JULIE! This day is for you!

We then took our new pieces of jewelry straight to Kakum. The national park of the same name has an attraction that takes your breath away.

Abbas picked us up after breakfast and we arrived after a good 1.5 hours' drive. Everyone dared to climb up and over the endlessly long and high suspension bridges. The view was unique and when we occasionally took a moment to rest on one of the platforms, we could hear all kinds of animals calling.
By the way: some of us were so impressed that they went for another round.

We were back in Ko-Sa around 3 pm. We spent the whole afternoon on the beach, building castles, playing chess, reading and practising climbing palm trees.

In between, we had birthday chocolate cake and a scoop of ice cream.

When it got dark, we painted and crafted together to creatively capture beautiful moments from our class trip. A walk on the beach rounded off this wonderful day.

We're already heading back today. The nature and vastness did us all an incredible amount of good. The atmosphere couldn't have been better. And as teachers, we would like to emphasize the following once again:

Apart from the fact that everyone had the opportunity to withdraw when they needed to, we experienced and did everything together. Everyone was invited to be part of the group at all times and the students were incredibly respectful and helpful in their dealings with each other. It was simply amazing to watch. We were and are a really good team!

After a relaxed breakfast, we packed our bags and swept our rooms. We also did the class council: what did we particularly like? Were there any challenges? What can we as teachers do better next time or pay more attention to?

All in all, it was an incredibly successful class trip.

We would especially like to thank the parents and families for their trust.

Enjoy your weekend together.
