Active Floor – A New Era of Interactive Learning!

This past Saturday, during our Open Day, we were proud to unveil our newest digital learning tool: the Active Floor from Denmark! The German International School Accra (GISA) is now the first and only school in West Africa to introduce this cutting-edge, interactive resource – a true milestone in innovative, movement-based education in the region.

What is the Active Floor?

The Active Floor is a digital interactive floor that merges learning with physical activity. Children use their feet to interact with games and exercises that support curriculum topics – and have lots of fun while doing it! Whether it's math, language, or general knowledge, the Active Floor offers a wide range of learning games that can be easily customized by teachers and students.

Movement, Play, and Knowledge – A Powerful Combination

With the Active Floor, classrooms become dynamic learning spaces. Children learn through play, social interaction, and full-body movement. This not only enhances focus and memory but also strengthens social skills and teamwork. The combination of learning and movement boosts motivation and supports cognitive development – something we clearly saw on Saturday, when excitement among the children was through the roof!

A First in West Africa – GISA Leads the Way

We are proud that GISA is leading the way in West Africa by integrating this forward-thinking learning tool into our classrooms. Innovation and educational quality go hand in hand at GISA, and the Active Floor is another important step in our mission to make learning holistic, modern, and student-centered.

We look forward to many inspiring lessons on our new digital play surface – filled with movement, interaction, and the joy of learning!
