Class trip class 3-4 to Gomoa Fetteh
We are all very excited because we are finally leaving. Unfortunately, the bus arrived too late, but we are now on our way. We're fine đ we chat a lot and eat lots of snacks.
Greta
After dinner, we saw a campfire made of big sticks and because it wasn't on yet, we told each other stories and danced. Later we were able to make marshmallows on the fire.
Caroline
We had to look for sunflowers and solve riddles. In the treasure was Fanta and Lollipops and our new class dinosaur (who urgently needs a name). To solve the puzzles we did a bit of math with plus and minus.
Rafael + Destiny
A man showed us around the fort. The inside of the slave dungeon was very dark, hot and smelly, but it was very interesting.
Mohai + Therese
We went to the sea and put our feet in the water. And we built sandcastles.
Stephie
We did the batik workshop under the palm trees. We made our own fabric. First we stamped or painted wax onto a white fabric. Then we dyed the fabrics. Then we washed and dried them.
Ayla
We went to the beach and collected shells and walked past âholy waterâ. We had to take off our shoes to do this. Then we played by the water and saw crabs and helped pull out the fishing net.
Ayla & Catherine
After dinner we changed and blew balloons. During the party we did a stop dance and a balloon dance, while we were listening to nice music.
Mohai
We started shortly after 8am on Wednesday. Everyone was super excited. Before we arrived at our accommodation, the Sunflower Beach Resort, we made a short stopover at the Fort of Good Hope in Senya Beraku and learnt a bit about the history of Ghana and the slave trade.
After about an hour, we continued on to our accommodation for the next two days. Once there, we had lunch - hot dogs with chips. Afterwards, we tried to open Mr Sunflower's treasure, which was found centuries ago. To do this, we had to find lots of sunflowers and put them together in various puzzles to get the code for the treasure chest. After about two hours, we finally made it and were able to open the treasure. The treasure chest contained Fanta, lollies for everyone and our new class pet - a green triceratops called Dino.
Afterwards, we all went to the beach together and were able to put our feet in the water before coming back for dinner. We had a variety of rice and chicken for dinner.
After dinner, we wanted to make a campfire. But as it took a little longer to get it going, we told each other stories. When the fire finally lit up, we grilled some marshmallows and then went to bed, exhausted.
The next morning started early. At around six o'clock, the first children started their own morning sports around our houses and everyone was wide awake. We still had time to play and chat because breakfast wasn't until eight o'clock. We had pancakes, eggs, bread, fruit, Milo, tea and water for breakfast. So we could all start the day energised. After breakfast, we went to the beach again to see where the fishing boats are made. Unfortunately, no work was being done there. So we took a class photo and went back. Once we arrived at the Sunflower Beach Resort, we put our feet in the sea again and helped a group of children bring their fishing net ashore. That was quite exhausting. Afterwards we had time to relax a bit - some children played games or chatted in their rooms. Some children made bracelets or party decorations for the evening.
Then we had lunch - burgers with chips. After lunch, we did a batik workshop under palm trees. First we chose a stamp and then we used it to make wax on white fabric. Everyone could personalise their fabric. Then we decided on a colour and dyed the fabric. Finally, it was washed and dried in the meadow. Unfortunately, it wasn't completely dry by the evening. After we had presented our fabrics to our classmates, we had dinner: Jollof, fried rice with chicken, fish or sausages.
After dinner, we started our party. We laughed, danced and played a lot of stop dancing.
Then we went to bed and it was quiet in the rooms much quicker than the day before.
Everything was still quiet on Friday morning at 6am. Many children slept longer today and some were already busy packing before breakfast. Around eight o'clock we had breakfast and then we all packed our things, tidied up and took our batik fabrics. After that we were able to set off for school again.
When we arrived at school, we had lunch and after lunch we had an ice cream together before our parents picked us up. We were super tired but also super happy. It was a great school trip and we all got to know each other in a completely different way and strengthened our class community gestärktâ¤ď¸.
