Exploring Christmas Traditions – in the Grade 5/6 DaF Group
The DaF group of Grades 5/6 also got into the Christmas spirit this week.
Every day, the DaF Advent Calendar surprised us with a small festive task, and everyone enjoyed the warm glow of the first Advent candle on the wreath. Together, we went on a little journey of discovery: What Christmas traditions are celebrated in Ghana, and which ones in Germany? Who is St. Nicholas, and why do children polish their shoes?
Also artistically, this week was all about the Christmas season. Creating a Christmas tree with colorful paper using the mosaic technique required a lot of concentration, patience, and imagination.
Every day, we explored these questions with curiosity and enthusiasm – and in doing so, discovered that Christmas is not just about lights, candles, and cookies, but also about stories, traditions, and the joy of being together.
